I started the week with some homestyle tomato soup and a mean grilled cheese sandwich.
Then our new wardrobe was finally delivered. After much squinting at instructions we had it assembled.
As well as the wardrobe we bought some folding stools for the breakfast nook. While I was wondering around the local hardware store I noticed some orchids sitting forlornly on The Shelf. You know how garden-store plants go to die on The Shelf? I rescued them quick smart and think they look pretty cheerful sitting here.
Then it snowed! I couldn’t resist a quick romp in the snow before bed.
We set out early on Saturday morning to make the most of the fresh snow. Lots of people were heading out to the dry-run at Hill End, but we took the bus a bit further to Pentlands. I wore three pairs of socks.
The forest looked wonderful!
I managed to squeeze my first snow angel, my first snow-fight and my first snowman into one day. Snow is a particular novelty for someone who grew up in the subtropics…
I ended the week unpacking more belongings. This time it was my cameo collection.
Extra snowflakes this week: cleaning the apartment, trying new and exciting cheeses, planning for spring, phone calls from good friends, crazy South African hot chocolates, Unnatural Habits, pizza warm from the oven, hot water bottles, finally unpacking all my clothes (after six months guys!), starting The Seamstress in preparation for book club next month and studying!
What made your week spectacular?
